Developing Organisational Capabilities

The most successful organisations are those that are constantly questioning and developing their corporate skills, belief systems and behaviours. These collectively make up the capabilities of the organisation, which determine its resilience to external forces.

However, it can be difficult to identify these capabilities and accurately measure their relative strength and influence on the organisation’s performance.

We do this using a suite of Cultural Transformation Tools, originally developed for the World Bank, and now used across the globe, by leading companies such as Ford and Microsoft, as well as national government agencies on every continent and not-for-profit organisations in the U.S. and U.K.

The measurement tools take a snapshot of the organisation’s capabilities overall, as well as capturing them at an individual employee level. This enables organisations to compare and contrast the skills, attitudes and behaviours of different teams or locations, in order to target development activities more effectively.

It is quick and simple to apply the measurement tool, which means that organisations can track their progress regularly, as they develop new corporate capabilities and tackle residual 'problem' areas.

The methodology can also be used to underpin change management programmes. The measurement tool generates results in a visual, easy to understand, format. This means they can be used to stimulate analysis and discussion at appraisals, workshops, training sessions and team building days.

It costs very little to apply the measurement tool to across any size of organisation, from one employee to hundreds of thousands. This also makes it a cost effective tool for analysing customer motivations, or assessing the suitability of service partners.

We work with each client, to help them analyse the results, facilitate the discussion sessions, and set up internal development teams.
